New Chris Sligh Songs and Record News

Average: 5 (1 vote)

Chris Sligh has posted three new songs on his myspace. The songs are titled "Something Beautiful," "Running Back," and "Love Is Raining Down," and are demos of songs he has been working on while on the American Idols tour. It's not really my style of music but for demos, I think they are pretty good. Chris Sligh also talks about his decision to make a contemporary Christian record on his blog, if you want to find out more about why he is making the kind of music that you hear on the myspace!

Kelly Clarkson on the cover of Self and Blender

Kelly Clarkson is on the cover of both Self and Blender this month. In the articles she talks about her battle with Clive Davis, the struggles involved with getting "My December" out as well as other things. They are both great articles and I think they both offer a lot of insight into the fued with Clive, her writing process and just her life in general. There are a lot of different rumors about Kelly out there right now, so I reccomend picking up these magazines and finding out what really happened between Kelly Clarkson and Clive Davis!

Kelly Clarkson's new album My December will be in stores on June 26th, but AOL is streaming a few clips from the album now. The clips on AOL are "Maybe," "Sober," and "Can I Have A Kiss," and they all sound amazing. She actually sang Maybe on her tour last summer and it is an amazing song. Can I Have A Kiss is really good as well, but I love Sober.  read more »

The Final Two

No votes yet

Last night was the first part of the two part American Idol finale, and I thought it was one of the best finales yet. I'm gonna have to agree with the the judges by saying that Jordin really did mop the floor with Blake, at least at the end. Blake is a great performer, but he really isn't that great of a singer, so when he wasn't allowed to beatbox or perform, it was kind of like....uhhh, why is he here?  read more »

Tonight is the finale of American Idol, and I found some spoilers...yay! Jordin will be singing A Broken Wing, Fighter (by Christina Aguilera) and the new coronations song. Blake will be singing She Will Be Loved (Maroon 5) and You Give Love A Bad Name, along with the winner's song. I am very excited for Jordin's choices and am glad she is doing an upbeat song amongst the ballads!  read more »

Carrie Wins Three ACM Awards!

Average: 5 (1 vote)

Carrie Underwood won three Academy of Country Music awards last night. She continued her awards show sweep by taking home awards for top female vocalist, album of the year and video of the year (for Before He Cheats). She has won awards for this album for the past two years now, so I'm glad she is recording a new album because she can't keep winning for the same album!

Congratulations to Carrie Underwood for adding a couple more awards to her collection!

Performance Order for the Finale!

No votes yet

To decide who gets to sing last in the finale, every year there is a coin toss, and the winner gets to choose when they perform. Blake Lewis won the coin toss, but, he let Jordin choose. After winning Blake said that it didn't really matter to him, so he asked Jordin if she wanted to go first....she said no, and so Jordin will be singing second next week. This might not seem all that important, but 4 out of 5 years the person to go last wins....Anyway, I think that as sweet of Blake to do, even if it does make his chance of winning even slimmer.  read more »
