Joining a pretty long list of other Idols from season 5, Bucky Covington recently signed a record deal! Bucky signed a deal with Nashville's Lyric Street Records and is currently recording a CD scheduled to be out on April 17th.
I'm happy for Bucky, and I'm sure this is a great opportunity for him, but honestly this is getting a tad bit ridiculous. 8 of 12 contestants from season 5 have record deals...I thought there was a rule about them having to wait a while before they can release a record. That's great that they are releasing records, but the WINNER should get some sort of advantage...the first one to release their album and single, etc.
Anyway, congratulations to Bucky Covington and all of the other Idols who got record deals, it will be interesting to see how they all do!
