American Idol Stars

Former American Idol finalists Constantine Maroulis and Elliott Yamin will appear on stage along with singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin for a concert in an upcoming episode of The Bold And The Beautiful airing Friday.

Constantine Maroulis, plays record promoter Constantine Parros on the daytime drama, will be joined by fellow cast members Mackenzie Mauzy and Kyle Lowder.

The concert is tied in to an online contest called "Boldface Challenge" which ran in the first few weeks of August.

Simon Cowell is bringing his hit TV show American Idol to the big screen. He is creating an American Idol movie called Starstruck. Cowell will be casting the lead roles in the film through open auditions across the US.

Simon Cowell also says "It is about 10 contestants who enter a gigantic singing contest. It's about good versus evil, and it will be very, very realistic. I'm going to cast the lead parts through an open audition process across America. So if you get through the auditions, and you get a part in this movie, it's a huge, huge deal."

Katharine McPhee is the Stuff Magazine cover girl. I personally didn't think the pictures were all that great. She is gorgeous, but the pictures seem a bit generic to me.

Clay Aiken got into a dispute with a woman during a flight to Tulsa. The dispute was over a foot on the armrest. Come on!  read more »

Just two days after parting ways with her manager, Kelly Clarkson has canceled her upcoming summer tour over disappointing ticket sales, yet another sign of turmoil as she prepares to release her third album, "My December."

In a statement on her Web site, Kelly Clarkson said: "In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won't be coming out to tour this summer.  read more »

Last night Haley Scarnato was voted off of American Idol. I really don't think anybody expected her to even make the top 12, so I don't think she can be too upset to be voted off at the top 8.

I personally think that Haley deserved to go four or five weeks ago. Her voice wasn't all that terrible but she could not compete with the amazing vocals of all of the other girls so she had to rely upon other things to stay in the competition.  read more »

This week on American Idol, we had to say goodbye to Gina Glocksen. While I do think that America got the Bottom three right, the wrong person definitely went home. Forget Sanjaya- I really don't understand why Haley is still in the competition. Her voice isn't that great and she is soooo boring. Gina actually had some personality, even if she wasn't a much better (or worse) singer than Haley.  read more »

Last night on American Idol we said goodbye to Brandon Rogers. We also got to see two of my favorite parts of the show...the group performances and the Ford commercials. I pretty much love the cheesy horrific dance moves...so much fun to watch, and it's nice to have them back because we only got like two group performances last year, which was sad.  read more »

Carrie Underwood wil be appearing on Saturday Night Live on March 24th. Carrie will be only the fifth country artist in 20 years to appear on SNL (others include the Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and Keith Urban.)  read more »

Simon Cowell will appear on 60 Minutes this Sunday, if anybody is interested in watching. It should be an interesting interview...I really hope they ask him some questions about why he thinks every Idol contestant should have to thank American Idol for the rest of their lives, and make him back it up....apparently, Simon claims that he is bigger than Bruce Springsteen in the interview...which is umm, interesting.  read more »

Jennifer Hudson fires back at American Idol after Simon Cowell called her out on not thanking Idol at the Oscars. Simon said something about how Idol alums view this show as a stepping stone, when really it is the only reason any of them have a career,and while I do agree to some (very small) extent, Simon is way out of line. Jennifer thinks so too, she fired back at Simon by saying, "If I'd been any better at my job when I was at Burger King in my middle teens, I wouldn't be here either, so should I thank them, too?"  read more »

I don't think anybody, herself included, expected Haley Scarnato to make the top 12. I don't think that many people will disagree with me when I say that Haley didn't deserve to make the top 12, and that she will be the first or second person to leave. Haley's problem isn't so much that she doesn't have a great voice, but that she picks horrible songs and is a very boring performer. Basically, Haley Scarnato got lucky in making the top 12, but she won't make it much father than that.

I like Chris Richardson, but he certainly is not one of my favorite contestants. Chris has a pretty good voice and has done an excellent job at picking songs and knowing who he is, with the obvious exception of Keith Urban (seriously, what was that?).  read more »

Gina Glocksen is another one of the contestants I really like. She does not have have the best voice, but she is the only non R&B or power ballad girl left in this competion, and that definitely will work for her. The people that don't like the style of music that Lakisha, Melinda and Stephanie sing don't really have any other contestant to support.  read more »

Lakisha Jones has one of the best voices on Idol ever, but I do not think she will win. Lakisha is very talented but she has shown no versatility at all...this is what got Chris Daughtry kicked off the show.  read more »
