Kellie Pickler placed 6th on American Idol last year, but so far she seems to be the only one doing much of anything. She already released her first album, and she has now signed a deal to star in her own sitcom!
The sitcom will air on FOX and is being produced by Simon Fuller. In the show Kellie will play a naïve small town girl from the south, who discovers that her biological father is the governor. When her father's dreams of becoming the next president starts gong downhill, his new relationship with Kellie helps him gain votes.
I think the idea for the show sounds kind of dumb, and the fact that Simon Fuller is producing it is not good, but congratulations to Kellie Pickler for landing this deal!!
