Melinda Doolittle is the one contestant who really stepped up and surprised me during the top 24 rounds. At first, I didn't think that Melinda would be able to get past the fact that she was a backup singer and prove that she has what it takes to be the lead vocalist, but she has really proved me wrong. She has done a great job at picking songs, and has switched it up a little each week, which is what separates her from Lakisha, at least to me.
A month ago I didn't think Melinda Doolittle had a shot at winning American Idol, but right now she is probably my pick to win.
