Last night on American Idol, the top 11 took on songs from the British Invasion, and overall it was one of the best nights so far this season! The contestants did a pretty good job picking songs, sang them well and performed as well! There were a couple of performances I could have done without, but I think they did a pretty good job!  read more »

The theme for this week is British Invasion Night. Peter Noone will be mentoring the boys, and LuLu will be mentoring the girls. I have no idea who these people are, but hopefully it is a good week. Last night on American Idol we said goodbye to Brandon Rogers. We also got to see two of my favorite parts of the show...the group performances and the Ford commercials. I pretty much love the cheesy horrific dance moves...so much fun to watch, and it's nice to have them back because we only got like two group performances last year, which was sad.  read more »

Carrie Underwood wil be appearing on Saturday Night Live on March 24th. Carrie will be only the fifth country artist in 20 years to appear on SNL (others include the Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and Keith Urban.)  read more »

Simon Cowell will appear on 60 Minutes this Sunday, if anybody is interested in watching. It should be an interesting interview...I really hope they ask him some questions about why he thinks every Idol contestant should have to thank American Idol for the rest of their lives, and make him back it up....apparently, Simon claims that he is bigger than Bruce Springsteen in the interview...which is umm, interesting.  read more »

Jennifer Hudson fires back at American Idol after Simon Cowell called her out on not thanking Idol at the Oscars. Simon said something about how Idol alums view this show as a stepping stone, when really it is the only reason any of them have a career,and while I do agree to some (very small) extent, Simon is way out of line. Jennifer thinks so too, she fired back at Simon by saying, "If I'd been any better at my job when I was at Burger King in my middle teens, I wouldn't be here either, so should I thank them, too?"  read more »

Last night on American Idol the top 12 finalists sang the music of Diana Ross, and overall it was a pretty disappointing night. Two of my biggest pet peeves, not using the stage and forgetting the lyrics, were quite common last night and most of the contestants fell a little short of expectations. Also this is the second time that Idol has said that Carrie won three Grammy awards, when she only won two and it is starting to get on my nerves a little bit & anyway, back to season 6:  read more »

The main problem with Brandon Rogers is that I sat here for 5 minutes trying to figure out which Idol contestant I hadn't written about yet...I am a huge Idol fan, and remember almost everybody who has been on Idol ever, but I couldn't remember Brandon, who I just watched a couple of days ago.  read more »

I like Chris Richardson, but he certainly is not one of my favorite contestants. Chris has a pretty good voice and has done an excellent job at picking songs and knowing who he is, with the obvious exception of Keith Urban (seriously, what was that?).  read more »

I really did not want Phil Stacey to make the top 12. He was doing an acceptable job for the first two weeks, but he did so horrible last week I really thought it would cost him his spot in the top 12. His voice is okay, I suppose, but he does a HORRIBLE job picking songs...seriously. He isn't the greatest performer either, and his eyes look so creepy when he performs...but thats beside the point.  read more »

Stephanie Edwards has a pretty good voice but for me, there is absolutely nothing unique about her. I think that Stephanie, Lakisha and Melinda are kind of being billed as the "Three Divas" this year, much like LaToya, Fantasia and Jennifer were season three, and for me Stephanie is by far the least talented of the three.  read more »

I really like Jordin Sparks, however I don't think she will make it too far in this competition. She has a great voice, but she is so young and doesn't have the experience that the other contestants do, which shows. She had done a pretty good job picking songs, with one glaring exception, but I don't really know what kind of artist she is, which definitely works against her.  read more »

Melinda Doolittle is the one contestant who really stepped up and surprised me during the top 24 rounds. At first, I didn't think that Melinda would be able to get past the fact that she was a backup singer and prove that she has what it takes to be the lead vocalist, but she has really proved me wrong. She has done a great job at picking songs, and has switched it up a little each week, which is what separates her from Lakisha, at least to me.  read more »

Lakisha Jones has one of the best voices on Idol ever, but I do not think she will win. Lakisha is very talented but she has shown no versatility at all...this is what got Chris Daughtry kicked off the show.  read more »

Sanjaya Malakar is defiintely the Kevin Covais or John Stevens of this competition. He is young, kind of awkward on stage, and way out of his league talent wise. Sanjaya isn't a very good singer and has done a horrible job picking songs. I really liked him during his audition, and he seems like he is very nice and sweet, but he has really gone downhill from there. Sanjaya should go home this week or next week, but he is the Vote For The Worst contestant and will likely get the pity vote and go a lot further than he should.  read more »

Gina Glocksen is another one of the contestants I really like. She does not have have the best voice, but she is the only non R&B or power ballad girl left in this competion, and that definitely will work for her. The people that don't like the style of music that Lakisha, Melinda and Stephanie sing don't really have any other contestant to support.  read more »

I Love Chris Sligh. I don't know what else to say...he has one of the greatest male voices left in this competition (not that that is saying much...), he's a great performer and he is hilarious. He has shown a lot of personality, which has helped him a lot and Chris does a pretty good job at picking songs. Chris will definitley make it far in this competition and although I originally said that I couldn't picture Chris Sligh winning American Idol, if he keeps improving I think he has a shot!

I don't think anybody, herself included, expected Haley Scarnato to make the top 12. I don't think that many people will disagree with me when I say that Haley didn't deserve to make the top 12, and that she will be the first or second person to leave. Haley's problem isn't so much that she doesn't have a great voice, but that she picks horrible songs and is a very boring performer. Basically, Haley Scarnato got lucky in making the top 12, but she won't make it much father than that.

So, i thought i would do articles of what i think about each of the top 12, becase i am on spring break and bored...haha...you dont have to post them if you dont want though! Blake Lewis is one of my favorite top 12 contestants and I see him going pretty far. He has a lot of things going for him...he is unique, modern, a great enertainer and he has a great voice.  read more »

Congratulations to Charrie Underwood who is nominated for 5 Academy of Country Music Awards! Carrie is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Single Of The Year, Song of The Year and Video of the Year (all for "Before He Cheats"). Carrie has already won two ACMA for New Female Vocalist and Single of the Year (for "Jesus Take the Wheel.) Tuesday night the boys on American Idol did a horrible job...horrible. The show started out fine, and ended fine but the middle was just a big mess. I definitely agree with the judges when they say there should only be 4 boys in the top 12...very few of them have proven that the have the vocal ability (or performance skills) to be the American Idol...anyway here is my review of the top 8 boys:  read more »

She posted on her blog at KellyClarkson.com that the album will be titled "My December." She also described the album as "intimate, raw, personal and rock" although some of the songs are "sweet and soft."  read more »
