Tonight is Country night on American Idol and I have some supposed song spoilers from IdolForums!
- Phil Stacey - "Ain't Goin' Down Till The Sun Goes Up" by Garth Brooks
- Jordin Sparks - "You're Still The One" by Shania Twain
- Sanjaya Malakar - "Boot Scootin Boogie" by Brooks & Dunn
- Lakisha Jones - "Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride
- Chris Richardson - "Over And Over" by Nelly and Tim McGraw
- Melinda Doolittle - "Why Haven't I Heard From You" by Reba McEntire
- Blake Lewis - "Come A Little Closer" by Dierks Bentley
Apparently, Blake really impressed Martina McBride, and will be going last with a acoustic like version of the song. Also, apparently Jordin was originally going to sing "I Will Always Love You," but she impressed the producers so much that they suggested she move it to next week, so it is rumored she will be performing "I Will Always Love You" ACAPELLA next week, in the coveted last positiion.
As for this week, I am really excited to hear Melinda and Phil, because they are both singing songs that have been previously covered by Kelly, so I am always interested to see how other contestants will do with them.
Reba McEntire said something about never being able to sing "Why Haven't I Heard From You" again because Kelly absolutely owned it, so I don't think Melinda will be able to do it as good as that, but it will be interesting, thats for sure.
Sanjaya is going to go back to being an absolute train wreck, I can almost guarantee that. I am super excited for Blake, if he really impressed Martina, and also for Chris, as I really like that song. Basically, I really love country week! =)
Remember, these are all just rumors, so I can't promise that any of it is true, and things can always change...but it's fun to speculate anyway!
Be sure to watch American Idol tonight to see what Country songs the Idols actually sing and how they do!
